The Disability Economic Empowerment Trust (DEET) was established as a Broad-Based Black Economic Entry to build up a diversified portfolio of equity holdings that would be used to create economic opportunities for people with disabilities
The ultimate beneficiaries of DEET are the South Africans with disabilities who receive services from NGOs under the umbrella of the Disabled Persons of South Africa (DPSA) and other associations which have been established to derive benefits for disabled people.
The Disability Economic Empowerment Trust through its programme endeavours to eliminate poverty, unemployment and achieve inclusive economic growth and human development for persons with disabilities in South Africa. Our programmes are coordinated from our head office in East London. However, our programmes reach all provinces in the Republic of South Africa. The following programmes are implemented by the Trust towards the realisation of our vision for an inclusive society. SMME Development & Support, Training and Skills Development, Employment Support Services, and Inclusive Education Programmes.
